Ihara
Ihara Talathoti is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist with over 15 years of experience supporting children and families to build strong, meaningful communication. She brings a unique blend of clinical expertise, personal insight, and deep empathy to her work—shaped by her own experience receiving allied health therapies as a child with cerebral palsy. This lived experience gives Ihara a strong understanding of the value of respectful, supportive, and empowering intervention from the very start.
Ihara is passionate about helping children develop functional and authentic ways to connect with the world around them—whether through speech, alternative and augmentative communication (AAC), gestures, visuals, or a mix of tools that best suit their needs. Her therapy is grounded in evidence-based practice and shaped by each child’s unique strengths, interests, and identity.
As a strong advocate for neuro-affirming and identity-affirming care, Ihara celebrates neurodiversity and supports every child’s right to communicate in a way that feels natural to them. She works with children across a range of communication needs, including speech and language delays, developmental differences, autism, and complex communication profiles.
Her approach is child-led, strengths-based, and grounded in partnership with families, educators, and support teams. Therapy goals are always practical, respectful, and connected to everyday life—whether that’s making friends, expressing needs, joining in at school, or building independence. Ihara believes that communication is more than words—it’s about connection, belonging, and being understood. Her goal is to help every child feel seen, heard, and supported in ways that are authentic and empowering.

As a neurodiversity-affirming practitioner, Katherine doesn’t believe in changing the child—but in changing the world around them. She engenders to break down barriers and build inclusive spaces where all children feel valued, supported, and empowered to express themselves authentically.
